High voltage design presents an additional layer of challenges in electrical design.  For example, an interface between a coaxial cable and an antenna that is simple and reliable at hundreds of volts become a significant design challenge with pulses of 200kV, requiring careful selection of materials and geometries to prevent flashover.  Safety requirements and circuit protection against fault conditions also require careful consideration.
